Recipes and Tips
There
are more ways to use herbs than most of us could
ever
imagine. If you
plan to use herbs medicinally,
always check with your physician
or pharmacist
in advance. Some herbs interact with prescription
medications as well as over the counter products.

Basic
Bath Salts
1c.
sea salt or table salt
1/2c.
Epsom salt
1/2c
baking soda
Mix
well. Add a few drops of your favorite essential oil,
mix well. Add 1c.
to each tub of water.
Milk
Bath
1c.
powdered milk with a few drops essential oil.
Add 1c. to a tub of hot
water. Enjoy!
Quick and Easy Herbal Bath
Treat
Tie together 4-5 purchased Chamomile
tea bags, place
under running water of tub. Allow to steep for a
few
minutes. Relax and enjoy~ This is outstanding for
eczema or very dry
skin!

Caffeine-free
Lemon Mint Tea
4
tbls. dried lemon grass
3
tbls. dried lemon verbena
1
tbls. dried spearming
1
tbls. dried peppermint
Crumble
dried herbs together. Add 4 cups
boiling
water. Cover. Steep for 5 minutes.
Strain.
Delicious hot or iced.
Bouquet
Garni
1/4c.
dried parsley
2
tbls. dried thyme
2
tbls. dried bay leaf
2
tbls. dried rosemary(optional)
Mix
together and place in an airtight container. Store in
cool,
dark place away from heat sources. Use within
6
months. Good for meats and vegetables. May be tied in
cheesecloth
for easy removal after cooking.

All
Purpose Surface Cleaner
1
handful fresh sage, rosemary or thyme sprigs
1
1/4 c. water
2
tbls. baking soda
8
drops lemon juice
Place
herb sprigs in saucepan, add water, cover and bring
to
a boil. Lower
heat and simmer 20 minutes. Remove
from heat. Allow to cool then strain through cheesecloth.
Pour
into spray bottle, then add baking soda and lemon
juice. Cap bottle, shake well. Store in fridge up to a week.
